Little Lambs Review

The first thing I noticed when handling the nappy was how incredibly soft and fluffy it was. I have never felt a nappy like it! All Little Lamb Bamboo products are made using Oeko-Tecs 100 certified bamboo yarn which gives them their softness as well as being extremely absorbent.
There are two sizes of fitted nappies available at Dinosaurs and Daffodils. Size 1 suitable for newborn onwards (7-18lbs) and Size 2 (18-35lbs). Both sizes come with a double layer bamboo booster to increase absorbency even further. This is removable in the size 1 but sewn into the size 2 nappies. The most fluffiest fleecy liner is also included. So fluffy my five year old daughter wanted to keep it for herself. (She is a magpie for anything fluffy!!)
The nappies are fastened with Velcro making nappy changes easy and quick. Which is what you need with a wiggly toddler! There is a cross over Velcro tab around the waist allowing you to create the perfect fit for your baby. This is a excellent feature especially for smaller babies.
All fitted nappies require a waterproof wrap over the top. The Little Lamb wraps are soft and stretchy and fit perfectly over the fitted nappies. These also have the adjustable cross over Velcro tab.
Little Lamb describe their wraps as 'bomb proof'. Having elasticated waist and legs ensure all contents inside stays inside!
Teddies nappy wrap is in Green Apple. Its bright and bold and I think it looks wonderful on. The wraps are also available in the following colours; Jade, Big Sky, Hazy Sun, and Watermelon.
As your baby grows bigger their wees get larger and additional boosters are great for adding extra absorbency to a nappy. Little Lamb bamboo boosters do seem thin in relation to other brands however bamboo material is the most absorbent. The Little Lamb boosters double layer boosts absorbency without making the nappy bulky. Meaning you can add one or two, without making the nappy uncomfortable to toddle around in.
A handy tip I got told recently from a mummy friend was to place the additional boosters between nappy and the wrap. As too many layers inside the nappy can result in the elastic stretching and gaping at the legs resulting in leaks. Having the booster between the nappy and wrap allows for a closer fit. Has anybody else tried this technique before?
I found Little Lambs nappies to be a great fit for Teddie. The legs and waist are elasticated preventing leaks and contain any explosions which may occur, but are soft and cushioned enough not to leave any red marks or chaffing which we sometimes get with are other nappies.
When starting their company Little Lambs main aim was to manufacture a top quality product that would last and at a reasonable price. This is definitely reflected in the price tag. At £6.75 for the fitted nappy, £8.50 for the waterproof wrap plus the bonus of the added booster and liner makes Little Lambs one of the most reasonably priced reusable nappies out there.
For us Little Lambs fitted nappy and wrap is great for both day and night use. The last few months we have had some major leak issues during the night. So this would really put Little Lambs to the test! The big question was. Would it sustain a whole night without leaks? YES!!!!!!!
I used two extra boosters during the night to be sure plus the one which is built in and was impressed with absorbency. It didn't feel uncomfortably saturated and his skin wasn't worryingly we.
I only have one negative point about these nappies and that is they are slow drying. But this is the case for all bamboo nappies. In the end I stuck mine in the airing cupboard and it was dry in a just over a day. If you have a tumble drier then you will be winning!
I am normally a pocket nappy lover but from using Little Lambs the past two weeks I have been converted. They are ideal for heavy wetters and great for night time use. I would recommend them to anyone starting out cloth particularly for newborns as they would be so soft and gentle on their delicate skin. I will defiantly be adding a few more of these to our collection.
